Splatter cards

Tim Holtz has posted some technique videos on his website, which are great fun. In one, he uses canned air to move the new Ranger alcohol inks on glossy card to make really interesting backgrounds. These are a couple of my experiments in this technique. I used the original colours, as I don't yet have any of the newer ones and used my Copic airbrush and compressor to move the ink.

Supplies used: glossy card stock, Ranger alcohol inks, stamps by Penny Black and Stampers Anonymous, Copic air brush system

In the next one, I used the Copic colourless blender and spritzed the background to get the mottled effect.

Supplies used: Glossy card stock, alcohol inks, Copic colourless blender, stamps by Stampers Anonymous , Judikens and Stampin Up

This one uses more earth tones and a Tim Holtz spinner as an embellishment.

Supplies used: as above, stamp by Stampers Anonymous, Tim Holtz spinner

This one turned out darker than I would have liked but was still workable.

Supplies as above, stamps Stampington and Autumn Leaves, spellbinders die, brads

I had great fun playing with this. Check out Tim's blog for this and other great techniques.

hello Rosemary,

I like your experiments with Tim's technique : I like the colorcombinations you used and how they turned out in the end.
Makes me want to experiment more with this technique : I made a tag and a few cards, but also an old ugly tin got changed with this technique and now I'm so happy I didn't threw it away :)

I strolled a bit down to your other posts : your hanger based on the tim's gears wasn't maybe not the way you intended them first, but I think they turned out very, very nice.
You may wear them with pride !

greetings from belgium

Thanks ladies. I have fun playing. And Inge, that necklace does get a lot of wear. Although it wasn't quite what I intended, it still works as a jewellery piece, particularly with casual clothes.
